Implants by Fort Lauderdale Dentist Dr. Stanton are amazingly natural-looking, long-lasting and predictable. They can fill the gaps that are left by missing teeth with beautiful, natural looking, permanent tooth replacements. These artistically crafted tooth restorations will give you back, not only a beautiful, healthy smile but also the ability to eat and smile again with confidence.

"Implants are the most natural and permanent way to replace missing teeth. The one thing I hear over and over from patients that have eliminated their need for dentures with implants is 'I wish I would have done this sooner.' Implants also don't require any extraneous support materials, such as bulky acrylic and metal that conventional partials and dentures do." -Fort Lauderdale Dentist Dr. Stanton

Single-Visit Implants

Implants are surgically placed artificial tooth roots that are capped by a dental crown. They can be used to restore any where from a single tooth, up to an entire arch of fourteen teeth:

For a single tooth: Oftentimes we can place the implant and create a crown for the implant on the same day depending on where the implant is being placed, the health of the implant site, and the patient's chewing habits.

For a full arch: For several missing teeth, some of the same criteria apply. Many times we can place several implants and create the restorations for these implants on the same day so that the patient never has to wear a denture depending on the health of the implant sites, the amount of bone present, and the patient's chewing habits.

Dr. Stanton is one of those uniquely trained dentists who are both a surgical and cosmetic dentist and can perform all the procedures involved in an implant; which means you have the convenience of completing your entire treatment in one office. The surgical phase of the treatment is planned using several different diagnostic tools, such as:

  • digital panoramic x-rays
  • a cone beam 3D CAT Scan
  • 3D Virtual Implant computer-aided placement

Our surgical team follows well-established and documented criteria which allow for very predictable results. Hence, we have an implant success rate of over 99%, which is well above typical industry standards for a dentist. Using the most modern surgical techniques and equipment allows us to perform these procedures with the least amount of trauma possible. This allows for a great reduction in post operative discomfort and shorter healing time and because of the use of computer aiding technology, Dr. Stanton's implants are always located with precision.

Additional Implant Options

Once the planning phase is complete, the patient is ready for surgery. Whenever possible, we limit the number of surgical visits to as few as possible. This will always be dictated by the condition of the area where the surgery is taking place. Implants are always placed in the patient's healthy bone. Sometimes, there is not quite enough bone to cover the entire implant. In this case, we need to supplement the patient's bone with grafted bone to ensure that the implant is fully covered.

Again, depending on the health of the surgical site, the needed healing time is determined on the day of the surgery; whether the tooth can be crowned immediately or not. If it is decided that the crown placement needs to wait for a period time while healing takes place, we'll always create some type of temporary restoration during the healing phase. No patient is ever "toothless" in the surgical phase, and this allows our patients to resume normal activities and functions.

Once the implant has healed and fused with the bone, expert cosmetic dentist Dr. Stanton can cap the implant with a beautifully prepared crown. Our team can help your learn more about this safe and predictable cosmetic solutions, and find out if implants are an option to help you.
