Dental Crown Before & After Gallery

Every crown in this gallery was made with CEREC at Stanton Smiles in Fort Lauderdale. Dr. Robert Stanton, DMD, designs, mills and places each crown in a single visit, so there are no messy impressions, no temporary crowns and no waiting weeks for an outside lab.

One Visit, One Crown, No Temporaries

At most dental offices a crown takes two appointments: one for impressions and a temporary, and another a few weeks later once a lab returns the final crown. At Stanton Smiles every crown, bridge, veneer and implant crown is made with CEREC during the same appointment.

What Happens at Your Crown Appointment

  1. Exam and preparation: Dr. Stanton examines the tooth and prepares it for the crown.
  2. Digital scan: a 3D scan replaces impression trays and putty.
  3. Custom design: Dr. Stanton designs your crown to fit your bite and match neighboring teeth.
  4. In-office milling: the crown is milled in our office while you wait.
  5. Placement: the finished crown is fitted and bonded before you leave.

When a Crown May Be Recommended

A crown covers and protects a tooth that has been weakened. Dr. Stanton may suggest one for a cracked or broken tooth, a tooth with a large or failing filling, a worn tooth, or a tooth that needs protection after a root canal. Our endodontist on staff performs root canals, so treatment and the final crown can be coordinated in one office. See Root Canals.

Crowns on Dental Implants

If a tooth is missing, our implant surgeon on staff places the implant, and Dr. Stanton makes and places the implant crown with CEREC. Learn more about Dental Implants.

Experience Behind Every Crown

Dr. Stanton has been in private practice for 25 years and has completed more than 80,000 restorative appointments, including more than 20,000 crowns. For larger cases, full-mouth rehabilitations are completed in 2–3 CEREC visits on consecutive days. See Full Mouth Makeover.
